"You forgot the bag. How can you forget the bag?!" He said as Mulan unzipped the bag. He looked past her and saw Shan Yu heading right to them, "Ahh!" He screamed, "Big and nasty coming our way!"
"Mushu find it and light it!" Mulan shouted.
"Got it!" Mushu jumped into the bag and started to go through it.

Shere Khan's mind cleared as the sickening feeling from the orb faded, and he opened his eyes only to find the lion cub was no longer in front of him. But here was blood on his claws. The big tiger frowned as he looked around, then down. There! The cub was now at the bottom of the gorge, a short distance from the Virtue. If he had been killed, it was his own fault.
But, before he could jump down, Kopa got up, and seized the Orb in a paw, cradling it as he ran. Shere Khan growled, and jumped down into the gorge, racing after him, unintentionally racing alongside Shan Yu. Following Kopa, he was now bearing down on the lion cub, the Chinese woman, and the small dragon, fangs bared, and fury in his eyes. If anyone dared to try to get i his path, he'd charge straight through them without stopping. The Virtue alone was his target. Nothing else mattered right now.

Akela likewise paused, and just let the light of the Virtue wash over him. As he stood, facing the light, his fatigue faded, his wound ceased to hurt, and, in that moment, it almost felt like the strength of the entire Seonee wolf pack flowed through him. Memories washed over him, memories of long hunts, alone, and alongside Leah. Alongside his children, teaching them how to hunt for themselves. Alongside numerous Seonee wolves. Memories of looking down upon the new cubs, glorying in the strength of the wolf pack he'd taken over from Cain, and made strong.
But the mood was broken when Shere Khan's wild flailing knocked Kopa down into the gorge. Thankfully, the cub was only lightly wounded. And the Virtue had fallen with him. As Shere Khan recovered, and dropped into the gorge, the old wolf's eyes narrowed slightly. He had to help the others. They would be no match for the huge Man and Shere Khan together.
I'm sorry, Grey Brother, he said silently. Reflexes honed over many years of hunting and fighting throughout the jungles of India, together with a speed still not slowed by his advanced age propelled the Lone Wolf forward as he directed a sudden attack at the younger wolf. If it landed right, Grey Brother would be uninjured, but in considerable pain. Akela's sharp nose was aimed at the younger's throat, intent on land a powerful jab to the windpipe. He had used such a move before to end a fight in his favor when he didn't want to kill an opponent.
If the blow landed true, he would be free to assist Mulan and Kopa.

Gray Brother noticed the turn of events, too. He watched in horror, managing to stop himself in time before he shouted Kopa's name. He felt close to the little cub—the prisoner of the Villains was like a single shining light in the middle of all the darkness Gray Brother had to surround himself with. Just knowing he had a real friend among the Forces of Evil, one he didn't have to watch his back with at all times, reminded the young wolf of why he was doing all this.
Before he could do anything, though, a sharp pain hit his throat like a jackhammer, utterly stunning him and knocking every ounce of breath from his lungs. He stumbled and staggered, trying not to collapse, desperately wheezing and coughing, trying to get back his oxygen. In the back of his mind, he hoped that Akela—for dimly he recognized the attack—was making use of the time he'd just bought. As soon as he'd gotten back his breath (though right now, that certainly felt impossible) he knew that any Forces of Evil scouting party members watching would expect him to go for revenge.

Shan Yu did not hear Gray Brother wheezing. He was only aware of four things; the Orb, the infernal prisoner Prince, Shere Khan beside him, and Mulan wielding his sword. Hades had given him a near-duplicate when he was resurrected, but the Hun leader was enraged at seeing his old notched blade in the hand of his enemy, his killer, like a symbol of his defeat and ultimate disgrace.
Another guttural cry ripped from his thick throat as he threw himself forward. Shere Khan was racing alongside him; good, let the tiger take care of the prisoner and Virtue. The foolish big cat had already done enough, letting that cub take the Virtue when it was within his grasp, and then injuring their very valuable prisoner. Perhaps the fearsome striped feline was admirable in strength and cunning, but he had slipped up twice too many times this night. The burly man would have words to say to the predator later tonight.
After he got his revenge.
Finally within striking distance of his prey, brain clogged with the overwhelming desire to tear Mulan to pieces, General Shan Yu of the Forces of Evil swung his new blade as hard as he could against his old weapon, funneling all of his compressed rage into his arms, using it to try and knock what was rightfully his out of Mulan's grasp. Once he took care of her, nothing else could stand in his way, and the Orb would be won!

As soon as he felt his attack strike home, the old wolf spun around, and raced off, the sound of Grey brother's wheezes fading as he sped towards Shan Yu. Trying to take Shere Khan from behind would simply expose him to the tiger's claws. So, instead, he went for the big Man. Taking care to make as little sound as possible, Akela closed the distance between himself and his target.
Once he was close enough, he leaped, intending to sink his teeth into the back of the man's thigh, looking to injure, if not sever, his hamstrings. If he could cripple the human, they stood a much better chance of getting away with the Virtue.

Shan Yu had just knocked Mulan's blade aside and thrust his own towards her heart when suddenly he was distracted by the sound of animal footfalls behind him. The Hun leader had very little time to react, but by sheer luck he moved his leg only in the slightest, as if to turn, before Akela's fangs sank into his thigh. Fortunately he'd moved just enough to avoid getting his hamstrings severed, but not enough to avoid the severe bite entirely. " Aaaaaaaaahhhrgh!" howled the huge man, unable to even turn and look at the source of the exploding pain in his leg. He jerked, which probably saved Mulan's life, as his sword dipped away from her heart and instead stabbed into her midsection. Even Shan Yu didn't find immediate satisfaction in this, though. He quickly drew his blade away from the Asian woman and tried to turn halfway without moving his injured legs, hoping to slice his weapon down on the attacking wolf's back. (OOC: In case anyone was wondering, this was planned between myself and Mulan. No godmodding here! )
