Mulan watched as Shere Khan launched himself at Kopa. Thinking fast and knowing she had just killed herself doing it, she swung her sword around and held it like a spear and threw it towards Shere Khan, although she didn't see if she managed to hit him or not as she closed her eyes, blindly kicking mid air to try and get Shan Yu off and listening to see if the sword had impaled Shere Khan.

While Shan Yu managed to dodge Mulan's first swing with the sword, feeling like his luck was too good to be true when she threw the weapon away, he did not, however, come prepared to get the young woman's foot in his eye. Like a shark that has been hit in too sensitive a place, the bigger man roared with fury and sudden pain—the effect of which must have been intensified by the Orb, now in the paw of their prisoner—and released Mulan's ankle.
Scrambling to grab hold of the rock face again, Shan Yu glared through now-watering eyes up at the shrunken Virtue. How had the lion prince escaped? He would have to report the insolence of that wolf who'd been in charge of the cub. Meanwhile, he drew his sword, swiping at Mulan's legs with renewed rage.

No sooner had the last words left Kopa's mouth than he realized how great a danger he was now in. Shere Khan was furious, and was launching into a pounce at his legs.
Suddenly everything seeemed to move in slow motion around him. He suddenly remembered a day back when he was younger and still living in the Pridelands. He remembered that he and Simba had been play-fighting, and Simba had made a move very similar to what Shere Khan was now doing. Instantly, the prince knew just what to do to avoid the massive tiger's deadly paw. He sprang for the rim of the Gorge, only two feet above where he was standing, but well out of Shere Khan's range, causing the tiger to miss him altogether.
Of course, Kopa knew that he wasn't out of danger yet. Now what? he thought to himself. Suddenly, something drew his attention to the Orb. He looked down at it again, and saw that it was beginning to glow brighter. This gave him an idea. The cub prince turned and pointed the Virtue at Shere Khan's eyes just as the Virtue's glow intensified to its fullest. This meant it was so bright that Kopa had to shut his own eyes and look away. He wasn't sure what would happen, but something told him that while his allies would still see, his enemies wouldn't.

Gray Brother was just trying to think up a reply to his leader that was worthy of the scoundrel he was pretending to be, when suddenly he felt a surge of strength course through him. The bottoms of the Gorge and it's walls lit up with a warm, bright light that made him want to lay down and soak in the rays as if they were sunbeams,
Taraha looked up and saw Shan Yu squinting and growling in discomfort at the glow of the Orb. Kopa was dangling from the edge of the Gorge, and in his paw was the Virtue, shining with power. Despite his allies' obvious discomfort, Gray Brother could see perfectly fine. In fact, his vision felt a little sharper. He felt he could count every one of Shere Khan's striped hairs and whiskers if he wanted to. The cut on his face quit stinging.
For a moment, all Taraha wanted to do was bask in the yellow shine, or give in to the urge to howl at the beauty of the Orb, as if it were the moon. He paused in his circling, assuming everyone else was freezing mid-battle, as well, like Shan Yu was, to stare at or cover their eyes against the magical sphere.

Mulan gasped as there was a bright light, although it seemed she didn't have to cover her eyes and it didn't hurt her eyes as well, so when she saw Shan Yu seemed to be effected by the light, Mulan instantly jumped up and took small jumps down the cliff, in the excitment of stopping the villains from getting the Virtue she forgot about the bag she had with her for her training session. In it happened to be some fireworks. If they lit one of those it would be a flare. She had told Akela and King Mickey about it. Of course, Akela was here, but the King wasn't, so he should see it.
She ran up a thin path leading to the top of the Gorge. When she got there, she saw the bushes where the bag had been, although it was a thirty second run to get to the bush. After she took one look at Shan Yu she instantly ran for the bushes.

Having missed the cub by a small margin, Shere Khan was gathering himself to strike again. Despite what the cub might have thought, two feet were nowhere near enough to be out of his reach. But before he could strike, a snarl of pain erupted from his maw as Mulan's sword sliced a gash into his shoulder. He turned his head to glower down at her for a moment, taking a quick look at the various people below. Redeyes and Biff were still preoccupied with the deformed human and the white dog, respectively. The woman was now unarmed, and Taraha was still engaged in a fifth with Akela.
"GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" He had turned his head to once again look at Kopa just in time to get an eyeful of intense, blinding light. All rational thought vanished beneath a nauseating, infuriating wave. Blinded by the light, and enraged beyond reason, he ashed out with all of his strength at the source of his agony. Since Kopa had closed his own eyes, it would be only by the most unlikely strokes of luck if he didn't get hit by the tiger's flailing paws.

As Mulan was jumping down from the cliff, Mushu quickly climbed out of a pocket in the bag, realizing quickly just what happened and where Mulan went to once the bright light appeared and the villains were affected. "Mulan! You forgot the bag!" Mushu cried out, knowing just what was inside it. The dragon grabbed the strap to it and tried to drag it to her, but it was stuck on a branch in the bush. He tugged a few more times in hopes of getting it off, but no avail.
Thankfully Mulan realized what happened as was heading back to grab it. Mushu flailed his arms to show her where it was, all while he was still trying to get it unstuck so it would be easier to pick it up.

Kopa opened his eyes, just in time to see Shere Khan flailing blindly. The Orb must have blinded him! The cub also saw that he hadn't needed to shut his eyes after all. The Orb wasn't really glowing too bright for him. Instead, it seemed to enhance his vision. Ducking and weaving to avoid the tiger's blind fury, the cub couldn't help but get hit a few times. The Virtue enhanced his vision, alright, and perhaps even enhanced his speed. Still, it didn't make him impossible to hit. First, the tiger laid three claw marks parallel across the right side of the chest and down Kopa's right front leg. Boy, was that painful! Then, Shere Khan whacked him the other way across the face, knocking him off the ledge and sending him tumbling down the Gorge wall. As he tumbled, he couldn't help but let go of the Virtue, and it tumbled down with him.
Landing at the bottom of the Gorge, Kopa was a little slow to get up, what with Shere Khan having hit him so hard. That, coupled with the fact that his chest, leg, and right paw were stinging due to the cuts he had received. He shook his aching head, trying to clear his vision. When it did clear, he saw the Virtue only a step or two away, with its light fading slightly. He also saw Shan Yu on the other side of him. He looked quickly for the woman who had been fighting the Hun. Then, he saw her a good distance down the Gorge, trying to do something.
I should protect her, and the Orb.
He stood between the Hun and the Virtue, and was about to challenge the giant of a man, when he suddenly heard something in his head saying, "Run, Kopa! RUN!" So he did. Grabbing the Virtue in his bad paw, and finding that this helped dull the stinging a little, he took off at lightning speed, heading straight toward Mulan. "Miss! Miss, we have to get out of here!" he called, trying to warn her.
(OOC: In case anybody is wondering, yes, that was a bit of a Star Wars reference.)

When Shan Yu's sword had missed Mulan, it had helpfully gotten jammed in a cleft in the cliff face. Before Shan Yu could yank it loose, a burst of painfully bright light had issued from the Virtue. The Hun general suddenly felt unbearably irritated, like when you just can't get comfortable enough to sleep, or as if something unseen is tickling you, only ten thousand times worse.
Not to mention the pain in his eyes, the slash across his chest, and the throbbing of his face from being kicked by that insufferable woman. With a roar, Shan Yu tugged his sword free and jammed it back into it's sheath. He pried open his stinging gaze and just managed to make out Mulan climbing up to the top of the Gorge. He witnessed her try to distract Shere Khan from attacking the prisoner, who now had the Orb that the light was coming from. Then his foe glanced at him and darted away.
At first, as he climbed furiously up the side of the cliff, Shan Yu wondered if s enemy was fleeing, cowardly. But the strategist in him knew that didn't make any sense. Mulan hadn't exactly been losing their duel. As he reached the top of the Gorge and pulled himself up with a mightily angry battle cry, he saw that the Asian girl was heading for a patch of bushes—something small and red and serpent-like was moving down there.
Whatever the reason for her sudden interest in the African foliage, he knew he couldn't let his prey escape. The General of the Forces of Evil charged her.

Mulan slid down to her knees and unzipped the bag, but heard Shan Yu coming for her. She quickly pushed the clothes in the bag to the side, lifted the emperor's medal and threw it to the side, and picked up a sword that was too big for her. It was Shan Yu's original sword. The one the emperor had given her. She held it up even though it lolled to the side a bit, but ready to try and distract Shan Yu.
"Mushu, find it and light it!" she shouted. Mushu should be able to find the firework now that the bag was open.
