Feb. 1st.
My dear Marian,
I have just come from a meeting called by the leader of these Forces of Good, and I now know, at least to a point, why I was called to come here. It seems there are ten magical Orbs called "Virtues," which came into being from the happiness released by ten of the happiest events in history, whether major or minor.
The leader is a mouse named Mickey, who looks nothing like the mice we have ever seen before. For one thing, he stands about to my chest and has black fur. His ears stay perfectly round (that is, the round surfaces of his ears stay facing you) no matter which way he turns! He wears a blue wizard's cap with stars and moon shapes on it, and a red robe that he has trouble trying not to step on when he walks. His shoes are rather like mine, and he wears short, brown pants underneath his robe.
His queen is a mouse who looks much like him but more feminine in her appearance and style of clothing. Her name is Minnie, and she seems to be to him what you are to me: a perfect partner to love and cherish for all their days. Of course, their are other such partnerships out here besides them, too.
Other than the two of them, and a few of their friends, all the other animals here walk on all-fours! And what's more, they don't wear any clothing! The only other things here that wear clothing and walk on two legs like us have rather flat faces and no fur at all, except on the tops of their heads, and they are called "Humans." I found this staggeringly incredible when I first saw them with my own eyes. However, Yen Sid, the wizard who wrote the letter we found, told me that many of these creatures come from different worlds, or rather, different realities than ours, and some even come from different places in time, as well. But I won't bore you with any details on that, because I'm still trying to wrap my head around it, myself.
In these lands where we are headquartered (called the "Pridelands," as you know), our host is a lion named Simba, who is a fellow member of the Virtuous Council, as well as king and lord of these beautiful lands. His fur is colored a majestic brownish-golden color with a splendid red mane. His queen is a more tawny-colored lioness named Nala, and the two of them together are as close to each other as husband and wife as you and I are to each other. They have two cubs. The elder one is a rather carefree young princess named Kiara, who is betrothed to a brown-furred lion named Kovu, whom she loves very much. She has golden fur like her father, but in a much brighter hue. The other, younger one is named Kion. Kion has a more yellowish hue to his fur than Kiara, and he has an odd paw-print mark on his left shoulder. He also has a tuft of red fur on his head, and it looks as if it's been combed backwards.
The humans here are fascinating, also. One of the many here is a woman named Mulan, who comes from a place called "China." She has somewhat pale yet fair skin, long black hair on her head, and wears a green-and-blue dress most of the time. Another human, much younger than Mulan, is named Cody, and he is from Australia. He has short, blonde hair, fair skin, and he wears a red shirt with short sleeves, almost like mine, as well as red shorts, and brown boots that look suitable for walking or running long distances over rough terrain. I've heard that both Mulan and Cody are quite the brave and heroic sort, and I look forward to becoming better acquainted with not only them, but everyone I've met out here thus far. I also hope that you will be able to come out here and join us sometime soon.
I love and miss you dearly, my darling.
Affectionately,
Robin Hood
