Such a strange, cruel thing fate can be. I, who once stood upon the threshold of my ultimate ambition, am reduced to being forced to rely upon mortals once again. Our cause has drawn many talented individuals to our banner, men, women, and even beasts. However, ambition seems to be the primary motivation for many of them. Thus far, none have seen fit to challenge our authority, but mortals have ever been reluctant to acknowledge their proper place. Perhaps if they knew what lies in store for them when we have secured all of the Orbs, and turned them, they would put aside their own petty ambitions. Of what worth is a mere kingdom or empire that will fade, and be forgotten? Of what worth are such short-sighted goals? Worthless. No, my ambition, my ultimate goal is much a much higher goal than anything on the earth. My legacy will endure for all time.
Perhaps our greatest error, those of us who command great power, has been to rely upon mortals who are too weak-willed, too simple of mind, to serve us. The Huntsmen of Annuvin served me faithfully, but beyond the battlefield, they were of little use. Shan Yu, Lady Tremaine, Scar, and the others are far more capable. But their ambitions may be detrimental to our cause. Capable as they might be, if they oppose me, or if they prove to be a hindrance, they will be destroyed without mercy, and their remains displayed as a warning. The mistakes of the past shall not be repeated.
