The Virtuous Council
When Yen Sid chose his former apprentice, Mickey Mouse, to lead the Forces of Good, he knew the newly appointed King would need help. In addition to numbers, he realized that the Mouse would need older, wiser heroes to aid him. Thus the Virtuous Council was formed as Yen Sid summoned the greatest advisors in the lands to the Pridelands. The members hold their meetings in a room at the center of Yen Sid's Tower, around a large oval-shaped wooden table.
Their purpose is to help King Mickey to decide on how to go about defeating the Forces of Evil and obtaining Orbs. A few of the members may have responsibilities to or jurisdiction over a group in the Forces of Good (i.e. King Triton's mer-soldiers, Simba's pride of lions, ect.). Others are simply there because of their great wisdom or exceptional abilities. After ample discussion over an important topic, they may vote on how to proceed.
There are ten members of the Council—one for each Virtue. They are as follows:
King Mickey Mouse
Mickey is a brave, noble, and kindhearted leader for the Forces of Good, and was chosen by Yen Sid himself for the job—but heavens knows he couldn't hope to defeat the Villains alone! Though he sits at what could be described as the head of the oval-shaped oaken table, Mickey would be nothing without the Council, and may be viewed as perhaps the least important, except in rank, of the group.
Master Yen Sid
Yen Sid, mysterious and cryptic as he is, takes his place more as an observer than a participant in the Council. Despite being the one who set all of these events into motion, as well as the person responsible for the Virtuous Council even existing, he does not tell the Council what to do—only answers as many questions as he can about the Ten Virtues or otherwise.
Simba
Ever since his father died, Simba has been King of Pride Rock, leader of the pride of lions that live there and father/husband of a healthy family. He is on the Council because he knows the Pridelands better than anyone, has inherited a bit of his father's wisdom, and holds the loyalty of the powerful lions in the Forces of Good.
Jiminy Cricket
What would the Council do without the down-to-earth, simple goodness of Jiminy Cricket? Though he may not be very powerful, and he may not control any soldiers, Yen Sid appointed the cricket for a reason. Jiminy is always there to remind the Council to listen to their Conscience and make the right choices.
King Triton
The mighty king of the sea, Triton, is formidable in battle and strength. He single-handedly controls the underwater portion of the Forces of Good, which is the only way to combat the sea witch and other evils in the sea. Though temperamental and fiercely loyal to what is best for his kingdom, Yen Sid probably appointed this King to the Council for his wisdom and experience in war.
The Fairy Godmother
With her magical abilities and helpful resourcefulness, the Fairy Godmother of Cinderella is an obvious choice to be a member of the Council. She doesn't control any group of soldiers, of course, but she is one of the chief authorities on magic at the Council, second only to Yen Sid himself.
Chief Powhatan
The chief of the Indian Tribe is incredibly insightful and wise, and knows how to lead with dignity for the good of those underneath him. His advice to King Mickey is essential, and he holds the loyalty of the Indians in the Forces of Good.
Akela
Akela was personally asked to assist King Mickey as an advisor, a member of the Virtuous Council. With his experience surviving in harsh circumstances and leading his pack through various trials of the Jungle, he could have easily been accepted into the Council even if he hadn't displayed such compassion in letting the man-cub, Mowgli, join his ranks. He controls the wolves of the Seeonee pack, and is used to being in a council-based system of leadership.
Robin Hood
As one of the youngest members of the Council, Robin Hood may not be as predictable a choice to have a seat at the oaken table. But his past as a thief against tyranny and kind heart for the poor and needy, as well as his determination to have King Richard on the throne of Nottingham, displays loyalty, courage, and cunning that is needed. He unknowingly holds the loyalty of the citizens of Nottingham, many of whom call themselves 'Merry Men' in his honor, and is an expert in guerrilla tactics and spy methods.
The Great Prince
Like Akela, The Great Prince of the Forest is adept at knowing how to survive the harshness of the wild, and how to help others survive it as well. He has control over any deer in the Forces of Good and is wise in the ways of keeping others safe, even if it means sacrifice.
In addition to the Council, other members of the Forces of Good may be brought in if they have an urgent personal matter that affects the effort to retrieve the Orbs, or if they have an area of expertise concerning the Orbs. The Companions to the King—Sir Goofy, Queen Minnie, General Donald, and Lady Daisy—are always welcome and often attend the meetings, which are held at least once a month, though there are many impromptu gatherings.
These characters are desperately needed for Disney Destiny's plot, but until all or most of them are claimed, the staff may be posting a few short stories of the convening of the Virtuous Council in the Tale As Old As Time board to keep the idea of their meetings current. Once they are claimed, we hope to RP the Council.
