Name: Doctor Facilier
Nickname: The Shadow Man
Age: 37
Gender: Male
Hero/Villain: Villain
Abilities: Facilier’s primarily ability lies in his shadow, which can act on its own and interact with physical objects by manhandling their shadows. This gives him a long range in combat than even his lanky build and cane give him. He also wields a surplus of magic, though it’s mostly simple parlor tricks that allow him to disable his opponents through confusion. A lot of smoke. However, he can look into peoples’ pasts as well, using his cards.
Personality: Facilier is a calm, demure, and charismatic manipulator in a commonplace setting. He is able to keep a grin, so long as he thinks he can hustle a deal. His ego, though, sometimes gets in the way of his own success due to having power over others only if they can be manipulated into his spells. He is makes up for his physical weakness by using psychological attacks, jabbing at the weak points and sorrows of someone’s past to weaken their will.
When it comes to his superiors, he is kind of a shaky weasel, quick to suck up and attempt to brown nose, if he feels he is in trouble. That is, if they are stronger than him. He is not afraid of anyone he considers a fool or an easy target, but is very quick to wilt before someone stronger than him.
Family: All deceased
Friends: Only his shadow
Enemies: Prince Naveen, Tiana, Mama Odie, Louis, Ray, most heroes
Allies: Most villains
Opinion of Certain Other Characters:
Prince Naveen: Facilier considers him an idiot at beast and a prey target at worst. He has “certified sucker” stamped on his forehead. Should be an easy target to take hostage.
Tiana: An annoying little wretch who was the only reason his plan failed the last time. He sees her as a prime target, if he should get into battle again, especially as he’s not reliant on a totem for a crutch anymore.
Lawrence: A stupid loser who was easily manipulate. Just a pawn. Considers the little weasel now useless after discovering he doesn’t have a truly scheming heart.
Pete: A king-sized Lawrence: taller, fatter, and dumber. Still, as his superior in the army, Facilier is left to listen to him, even if the witch doctor would prefer to trip the bumbler up with his cane, whenever the opportunity arises. If it wasn’t for the evil three, he probably would push his captain off of a cliff.
Hades: Real swell guy for freeing his soul, but reminds Facilier just a little too much of his friends on the other side with those sharp teeth. Facilier is quick to kneel before the god of the underworld and use excuses, so he isn’t sent back to an eternal fate of torment.
History: Facilier was a young Haitian boy who was raised in a voodoo family several generations deep. However, growing up in squalor and being treated as an underclass citizen really got under the man’s skin as he was growing up. Though his family wasn’t the purest users of voodoo hoodoo, he crossed a line as he made a deal with dark forces for far more unlimited power. The only strings were that he could not use magic on himself and that he had a dark debt he would have to repay. He didn’t care, at first. He had real power, and he would take his rightful place above others which he so richly deserved.
New Orleans seemed like a perfect target. It was a big and noisy city which had a lot of suckers he could pull money from. However, seeing some of the real fat cats made him realize that he was pulling chump change. Realizing that he was running out of time on his contract, he knew he had to pull off one big scheme to save his skin. Unfortunately, his plans all fall apart as one annoying little toad of a girl smashed his talisman, banishing him to the “other side”.
Just before the jaws of doom could wrap around him, however, he was pulled out by a dusky blue arm. It turned out that his contract had been traded over from the voodoo deities to the devious Hades of the Greek underworld. This new contract required Dr. Facilier to take on the task of helping a bevy of villains seek out and capture orbs of power. Facilier wasn’t sure what it was all about, but if it meant he could walk free while retaining some of his powers, he’s good with the deal.
Is Afraid Of: His former “friends” on the other side, being banished again
Home: New Orleans, Louisiana, FL
Other: Though he is under Pete, when it comes to the army, the contract for his soul puts him under the direct command of Hades, when called upon.

Sample Post: “Well now,” Facilier started as he brushed off his hat, “I suppose I really should thank you all for saving my skin.” He frowned slightly as he replaced his hat. He looked around at the gloomy interior of the underworld. It did feel good to be back in the skin, but this was not the sort of place he expected to come back to. It made even a mud bog in the midst of the bayou look like Mardi Gras.
He took a moment to look around, before kicking a stone casually just for the thrill of being physical again. With his proof intact, he smiled more casually, revealing the gap between his front teeth. “Well, now that we’re for certain on matters, I really should admit my gratitude.” He chuckled and waved his hand up, rubbing his fingers together as though he were expecting some sort of payment. “Now, forgive me for sounding ungracious, but what can a fellow like me do for you?” He smirked as he held his hand out to the blue deity, ready to get back to his devious business deals.
