Deardiary Journal,
I'm keeping this journal thing because...well, I really want to be able to tell my adventures to all my brothers and sisters when I get back home, and I'm afraid I won't be able to remember them all, since I guess I'll be having so many. I mean, I've been on some pretty fun adventures, but this one is definitely the biggest. I think it might beat the time we were caught by the Devil Woman—even the time Thunderbolt—the Thunderbolt—saved us from her.
I suppose I had better start from the beginning. About a week ago, I was sitting in the barn...oh, I forgot to tell you a couple of things. I'm a Dalmatian—dad says that means a 'stylish dog with spots'. I live on a farm with my mom, dad, our pets Roger, Anita, and Nanny, and like ninety-seven brothers and sisters. Most of them are adopted. We make up the famous 101 Dalmatians.
Anyway, back to the story. I was sitting in the barn, watching my very favorite show, The Thunderbolt Adventure Hour. I think a commercial about Kanine Krunchies had just come on, because mother says she can never get my attention when I'm watching ol' T-Bolt, and I definitely heard something other than the Telly. Normally I don't like it when something interrupts my favorite program, but this time it was different. I felt all excited and scared at the same time for no reason, and there was this ringing thing in my ears.
At first I thought I'd gone crazy, because there wasn't anyone around. I thought Mooch, the sheepdog bully who lives on our farm, might have been playing a trick on me with Wizzer and Dipstick, my two brothers. But when I went to the barn's door and looked around, there was nobody there, and the ringing in my ears got louder.
I started walking towards the creek, because every time I took a step closer in that direction, the bubbly feeling in my stomach and the sound got bigger and bigger. By the time I got there, I thought I was going to throw up, so I bent down to take a drink to see if that would help. I thought maybe I was sick.
But when I looked down into the water, I didn't see my reflection. I saw a man with a tall pointed hat. I knew he was a wizard, because I've played Roger's video games and I watch a lot of TV. Itscared startled me so bad, I almost fell in. Then the man's reflection talked, and the ringing in my head stopped, and the excited feeling built up a little more.
I don't remember very much of it now—only that a big struggle was about to happen, and I was being called. The really funny part is, I don't even remember journeying to the Pridelands, where I am now. I remember leaving the farm, of course. I wanted to take my best friends, Rolly, Cadpig, and Spot the chicken along, but I didn't. I had a feeling it might be too dangerous, even though we normally did plenty of dangerous things together.
So now I'm at the Forces of Good's camp. It's chock full of heroes. I haven't seen Thunderbolt, even though I know he's the greatest hero of all. There are lions, and people, and other things that I don't really know what to call. It's really cool here, though—we can speak to the humans! Us animals, I mean. I suppose that's the work of Yen Sid. Oh, he's the wizard who 'called' me. He called all of these other people here, too. I don't really know what it's all about, but I see how important everyone looks. I'll just have to show them that I can be just as useful as they are!
Someone named "King Mickey" is calling a meeting. I don't really like meetings; they sound boring. But I need to go to this one if I'm going to figure out what all of this is about. This is Lucky, signing off!
